On April 3, 2012 the voters of Cass County approved a county 9-1-1 sales tax.  On April 23, 2012 the Cass County Commission appointed the initial members of the board to administer the funds and oversee the provision of emergency services in the county. Members of the initial board were required to represent the fire protection districts, ambulance districts, sheriff’s office, municipalities, and other emergency serves, and the general public.  Further, the appointments could not represent more than four members from each district of the county commission. Therefore, the Cass County Commission appointed:

The next election for the Cass County Emergency Services Board is April 2, 2013.  According to Section 190.335.10 RSMo, three members shall be elected from each district of the county commission and one member shall be elected at large, such member to be the chairman of the board. Of those first elected, four members from district of the county commission shall be elected for terms of two years and two members from districts of the county commission and the member at large shall be elected for terms of four years.  In 2015, and thereafter, all terms of office shall be four years.
